ABOUT THE MOVIE:

AMERICAN TEEN is the touching and hilarious Sundance hit that follows the lives of five teenagers - a jock, a popular girl, a heartthrob, an artsy girl and a geek - in one small town in Indiana through their senior year of high school. We see the insecurities, the cliques, the jealousies, the first loves and heartbreaks, and the struggle to make profound decisions about the future.

Filming daily for ten months, filmmaker Nanette Burstein (ON THE ROPES, THE KID STAYS IN THE PICTURE) developed a deep understanding of her subjects. The result is a film that goes beyond the enduring stereotypes of high school to render complex young people trying to find their way into adulthood. With extraordinary intimacy and a great deal of humor, AMERICAN TEEN captures the pressures of growing up - pressures that come from one's peers, one's parents, and not least, oneself.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

AMERICAN TEEN hits theaters on July 25, but we are offering you a sneak-peak opportunity not only to view the film, but also to meet and hang out with the cast. We'll be screening the film on Thursday, July 10 at 7:00 PM at the Alamo South Lamar. Following the screening we'll have a Q&A with all 5 principal cast members from the film.

The real fun, however, comes on Friday, July 11. A select group of attendees have won seats to the AMERICAN TEEN VIP 'nouveau cafeteria' brunch. We'll meet at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar at 10:00AM this Friday and board a school bus along with the 5 cast members and head over to an Austin high school to enjoy a VIP brunch prepared by Alamo executive chef John Bullington.

All these winners had to do was dig deep in their repressed psyche and pull out the most traumatizing emotional blow from their teens, write about it and let the good folks at AICN read them and decide who had the best (read: worst) time during those troubled years.

These lucky winners suffered the most trauma!

Culp, Austin +1
Hauf, Jilliam +1
Meyer, Josh +1

Get ready to unearth some things you once buried deep in your brain, and get ready for great food and great company. Congrats!
