BUTT-NUMB-A-THON 6
HARRY KNOWLES' ANNUAL BIRTHDAY MOVIE MARATHON PARTY

UPDATE: 12/10 - one day til BNAT 1) No outside food or drinks are allowed in the theater, except in instances for medically-necessary dietary requirements. If you have such a need, please coordinate with karen@originalalamo.com. Regular food service will be available from noon til 1 AM with snack and drink service from 1 AM until 7AM or so, when breakfast is available. Following breakfast, we will have one more round of food service from about 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM. We will have all you can drink coffee and all you can drink sodas available, too. We take cash or credit cards for food and drinks, and there is an ATM at the theater. Also, bear in mind that our waiters will be working rediculous hours for this event, so please treat them nicely and tip them well, they are one of the hardest working waitstaffs in the business.

2) Please arrive between 10:30 and 11:15. We are planning on starting the first movie at noon, and there is a lot of settling in to do in the meantime. We will be opening up the doors at 10:30 to begin checking people in. Check in will take a little while, so please be patient with us. Because of the high security surrounding this event, NO CAMERAS, NO CAMERA PHONES, NO VIDEO CAMERAS are allowed. We will be checking all bags at check-in, so please do not bring any of these items. One of the reasons we are able to get new films for Butt-Numb-A-Thon, is our spotless record on piracy, please do not jeopardize this; leave cameras, video cameras and picture phones at home or in the car. You are allowed to bring pillows, blankets, slippers, hemhoroid donuts, but don't use them to sleep. If you fall asleep, we reserve the right to perform lewd and juvenile acts with/on you.

3) The last rule is the most important one, and it's the backbone of how we run our theater. Treat every single one of the movies with respect. Do not talk during the movie, do not even dare to let a cell phone ring, and even if it's on vibrate do not answer it in the theater. We encourage you to react, laugh and enjoy. But under no circumstances should you crack jokes, "mystery-science style." Our policy is simple: You aren't as funny as you think you are, so shut the fuck up. It ruins the movie experience for the real fans who are trying to lose themselves in the experience, and this is an event for real fans only.

That's it. Three little rules. See you on Saturday!

information about standby is available at Ain't It Cool News

SAT, DEC 11 NOON TIL SUN, DEC 12 NOON VERY LIMITED ADMISSION!

“What is BUTT-NUMB-A-THON? The greatest film geek event in the world. The focus of this 24 hour event is to celebrate film in all its forms! In advance of the film festival you will never know what is going to be showing, who may be arriving as a special guest or if you'll ever see the sun again!!! The purpose of all this is to let your mind wander and wonder about what it is that I have in store for you! In the past our special guests have been Peter Jackson, Mel Gibson, Vin Diesel, Steven Railsback, director Guillermo Del Toro and many others. We've had screenwriters, directors and producers show up just to attend the event for themselves... and of course there is the disguised in human form cast of characters from behind the scenes of AIN'T IT COOL NEWS." - Harry Knowles, Ain't It Cool News. The proceeds from BUTT-NUMB-A-THON completely fund the Saturday Morning Film Club all year long. At the time of this printing, the means for allocating the tickets has not been determined. Please check www.drafthouse.com for more details. This is the single-most popular event that we host each year, we can seat not even 1/10th of the ticket requests we get each year. As this is the 5th year for the event (round numbers being all the more significant in the world of event promotion), rumours are already rampant and expectations high. Check back soon and keep your fingers crossed, and hopefully, we will see you at the movie-geek heaven that is Butt-Numb-A-Thon!

Tickets are now availabe on sale for this event. ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN CONTACT BY TIM LEAGUE OR HARRY KNOWLES (SEE LIST BELOW) ARE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND. If you are on the list below, you must pay for your tickets in order to be able to attend BNAT. If you buy tickets and are not on the list below, we appreciate your donation to the Saturday Morning Film Club.

Tickets to the event are $60. This covers the production cost of the event, the schwag, and will fund the Saturday Morning Film Club for they year. To the lucky few on this list, we look forward to seeing you on December 11.
