Wherever there are film fans, there are fans of film music. Austin is particularly lucky to have Film Score Focus, a weekly (every Friday night at 8pm) film music radio program on 89.5 KMFA. Host Brian Satterwhite, himself a busy film composer and film music correspondent for Ain't It Cool News, is an expert on and fan of all different kinds of film music. But if you want to see him get excited and break out into a sweat, just mention the Hitchcock scores of Bernard Herrmannn. We'd like to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with you at a very special screening of the great NORTH BY NORTHWEST.

Before the show, Brian will discuss the score, its history, construction and inspiration. You will truly come to understand how the pieces of film music fit together and how a score is constructed to convey drama, action and character. Then when we watch the film we can experience it not just as a film made by a master but as a great work of music as well.

Arrive early to hear a live preshow featuring accordion renditions of Bernard Herrmann's music by Mitchell Bowman.
