When we first heard that Broken Lizard's Jay Chandrasekhar, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske were coming to the Alamo to host a screening of their new film THE SLAMMIN' SALMON, we figured we were just another stop on some national promotional tour. Not so. Turns out, they're coming to Austin for tacos.

It's no secret that the Austin taco scene is the most vibrant in the country, and we wear that fact like a badge of delicious honor. The taco should appear on the Austin city seal and on top of all official government letterhead. We should make our school children face a taco during the pledge of allegiance and witnesses should put their hands on one to testify. If you believe otherwise, pack up your bindle and hit the road.

Before the 2pm screening of SLAMMIN' SALMON on Sunday, December 13, we're getting on a bus with Jay, Paul & Erik, and taking a whistle-stop tour of some of the best taco joints in Austin! It's Broken Lizard's Austin Taco Crawl and you're invited!

Admission gets you:
-A VIP seat on the bus to rub elbows with Broken Lizard!
-Beer on the bus! (you think the guys that made BEERFEST would have it any other way?)
-A specialty taco from three different taco joints!
-Reserved seating in the 2pm screening of Broken Lizard's THE SLAMMIN' SALMON introduced by Broken Lizard!

We'll start off the trip with an old fashion'd pre-noon beer chug then head over for breakfast and a handshake from Austin's famous Juan in a Million. Wash that down with a signature taco from perennial "Best of Austin" powerhouse TacoDeli and cap off the crawl with the MIGHTY Torchy's Tacos! In their latest comedy, "Slammin" Cleon Salmon (Michael Clarke Duncan) is a former Heavyweight Champion of the World turned celebrity owner of a high end Miami seafood restaurant, The Slammin' Salmon.

A terrifying bull of a man, Salmon uses fear to rule over his misfit waitstaff (Broken Lizard's Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske, as well as Cobie Smulders and April Bowlby) and on this particular night, he takes his bullying skills to a new level. In an effort to pay off a gambling debt to the Japanese Yakuza, Salmon sets up a contest to 'inspire' his waitstaff to sell more food than they ever have before: the top selling server wins $10,000 while the waiter in last place gets served with a broken rib sandwich- courtesy of the Champ himself.

Spurred on by greed and panic, the staff resort to backstabbing, bribery and indecent proposals in an attempt to upsell their patrons while simultaneously sabotaging their co-workers. As the hours pass, the dining room action becomes more frenzied as the contest escalates into a brawl for first place in order to win the money.
