AGLIFF Brunch: OTTO; or, UP WITH DEAD PEOPLE
Rated Unknown; 94min; Director:Bruce LaBruce (2008)
Location: Alamo Downtown
AGLIFF for a queer spin on the Halloween genre. OTTO is cult-favorite director Bruce LaBruce's take on the always-popular zombie movies. Otto, a young zombie, appears on a remote highway having no idea who he is or where he came from. He hitches a ride to Berlin and is discovered by underground filmmaker Medea Yar, who is trying to finish UP WITH DEAD PEOPLE, an epic political-porno-zombie movie. A perfect fit for the film, Medea casts Otto as in the film, and rooms him with its star Fritze. But when Otto discovers a wallet in his back pocket, he begins to remember his past life, including his boyfriend, Rudolf. Screens with I AM NOT A WEREWOLF by local filmmaker and October's special guest, J. Anthony Hernandez!
