Birth of the Cool: DESIGNING THE COOL

This exhibition incorporates the painting, architecture, furniture design, decorative and graphic arts, film, and music that set in to motion midcentury modernism in the United States and established Los Angeles as a major American cultural center. March 25: DESIGNING THE COOL:

April 15: LET'S GET LOST:
Trumpeter/singer Chet Baker embodied cool, modernist jazz right up until the end, and it's the end that's documented here in Bruce Weber's 1988 film. His looks were ruined but his talent was entirely intact. Full description here.
