Election Night at the Alamo!
Rated Unknown
Location: Alamo South Lamar
Hosted by Henri Mazza!
Like leap year, presidential elections are hard work. A lot of people pour a lot of blood, sweat and money into the big democracy bowl, and then hire a lot more people to churn it day and night for many many (oh so many) days and nights. But it's worth it, because come November 4, no matter who takes home the white house, we'll all have a nice, heaping pat of freedom butter on our government buns.
It feels like we say this every year, but this year it somehow feels genuine- this is the most important election in American history! The 'winner' will not only inherit a war, but also an economic depression as well as a soul-shattering national deficit thrown in for good measure. Will it be Barack Obama, the ivy-league elitist with the solid-gold tongue? Or John McCain, the experienced septagenarian with the jowls of Zeus? Or will it be Bob Barr, the pin-striped libertarian who's been black-balled from legitimacy by his own pin-stripes? Or Cynthia Ann McKinney, the sprightly independent who has literally no chance in hell? Whoever wins, it won't be a Bush, and that's a win for all of us.
Watch the the map of the country turn red and blue with us on election night, and watch the faces of your fellow audience members turn red and blue along with it. We won't be responsible for the outcome, but whatever it is, we'll either be celebrating in high fashion or raging as a big Alamo family, and we can't do it without you, so BE THERE!
