Ain't It Cool News and Fantastic Fest present a sneak screening of HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY with director Guillermo del Toro live in person!

Our theater has already been inundated with calls and emails frantically requesting seats and information. Not that we didn't expect this madness when we booked the event, but it must be properly set up here at the onset that seating is unfortunately limited and not everyone will get in. Due to the incredibly high demand for these tickets, the only people who are even eligible to get in are the Fantastic Fest Badge Holders.

If you have not purchased a Fantastic Fest badge, please check out our website: www.fantasticfest.com for more information about the event. Badges start at $40 for the 2008 Fest and I dare say, it's the most fun week of the entire year at the Alamo. Fantastic Fest features screenings of over 65 of the best new action, horror, science fiction and fantasy films of the year and is the largest event of its kind in the United States. We have reserved a section of seats for existing Fantastic Fest badge holders (this offer has already been sent), but have also reserved a section of seats for new badge purchasers as well. There will be more events for Fantastic Fest badge holders only leading up to the festival, so if you are on the fence, now is a good time to commit.

If you are interested in getting in to this event, you must send an email to rsvp@fantasticfest.com with I'LL BE DAMNED in the subject line (NO MORE NO LESS, SCREW THAT UP AND YOU WON'T BE CONSIDERED) and include the exact name of the person who purchased the badge. When the list has been made, we will post the names on the Alamo Blog at www.originalalamo.blogspot.com. Each badge is good for one [1] ticket, but that DOES NOT mean that if you have a badge you automatically have a ticket.

Good luck and we hope to see you both on July 8, but also on September 18 for Fantastic Fest 2008!

The story of HELLBOY is not one that can be easily (let alone elegantly) maneuvered in your average Hollywood Blockbuster- a demon avenger from Hell, his pyrokinetic girlfriend and an ultra-intelligent fish-man work together to save the world from an occult terrorist organization led by a resurrected Rasputin. But put these elements into the hands of visionary director Guillermo Del Toro (THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE, PAN'S LABYRINTH), and the result is not only stunning to watch, but genuinely humane despite its own incredible inhumanity. As a director, Del Toro's gift for seamlessly weaving together playful and surreal imagery with shocking realism has created some of the most memorable and inspired films in recent history. And with every film he writes, directs and/or produces, his visions just keep getting more fantastic. This Summer, HELLBOY II: THE GOLDEN ARMY hits screens, and with Guillermo once again at the helm, it is sure to be one hell of a good time. And out of the goodness of his heart, he is personally bringing the film to the Alamo South Lamar so we can all get a sneak peak at his newest creation. But you better catch him now because he just signed on to direct THE HOBBIT - so long America, hello New Zealand.
