Speed Racer Scavenger Hunt Road Rally

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! If you are a big-time fan of Speed Racer and want to get in to the mood before seeing the film, join us for the Speed Racer road rally.

What is a "road rally," you ask? It's part driving challenge, part scavenger hunt, all themed around the Speed Racer TV show and movie.

We'll officially start the rally at 2 PM sharp, so plan on arriving about 30 minutes before so there is time to check in.

The scavenger hunt is mainly photo based, so each team will need a digital camera to complete the event.

You will need the following items:
1) A digital camera with the cable to hook it up to a computer
2) Money - depending on how you complete the tasks, you may need a few bucks
3) A car jack
4) A map or GPS might be handy
5) A CD Player (either portable or in your vehicle)

In addition to these items, you should also come to check in with a two syllable team name ready.

Also - each member of your team must have a valid drivers license or ID. These will be collected at check-in and sealed in an envelope. This still sealed envelope must be presented at check in. If the seal on the envelope is broken, you were pulled over by the police and are disqualified. Please obey the laws of the road and drive safely.

Bonus points will be given for each member of your team dressed as Speed, Racer X, Pops, Mom, Trixie, Sparky, Spritle or Chim Chim, and for anyone who has a giant M on their road rally vehicle.

Other than that, just bring your A-game and be ready to have fun.

Check in will begin at 6:00 PM and end at 7:00 PM back at the South Lamar theater.

The Road Rally ticket includes entry in the competition and 2 tickets to the 7:00 Saturday screening of Speed Racer at South Lamar. If you have more people on your team, please purchase tickets through the website for the 7:00 PM show at Lamar and we will get a head count for your team at check-in. We'll have a reserved section blocked off for all competitors in the road rally. Following the screening, we'll display a slide show of the highlights from the team photos and award the prizes.
