No film of the 1960s managed to spark the collective international scifi imagination like the Rod Serling-penned evolutionary epic PLANET OF THE APES. Yeah, it's possible to think back on it as a wild collection of primate make-up effects and blustery Charlton Heston quotes, but the fact is that this film still stands as a triumphant testament to imagination and vivid, vibrant storytelling. In addition, it's one of the most beautifully shot science fiction films in American history.
